Framed by the snow-capped Julian Alps and Karawanks mountain chains in northwestern Slovenia, Lake Bled is a glacial-tectonic body of water fed by subterranean thermal springs. Its centerpiece is Bled Island (Blejski otok), home to the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary with its 52-meter Gothic-Baroque tower.
The Ojstrica & Mala Osojnica Viewpoints
While the 6-kilometer perimeter trail around the lake offers serene waterfront walks, the most iconic vantage point is located on the rocky crest of Ojstrica (611m). Reached via a steep 20-minute forest scramble starting near Zaka camping, the summit features a lone wooden bench perched high over the emerald water.
